In April 2003 the Misfits registered en masse for the Malvern weekend organised by the London Branch of the OUGS (Open University Geological Society).

The leader for the weekend was hydrologist John Gunner who's catchphrase was "it's just around the next corner!". John Gunner was also the group leader for the Lizard trip.
